The contributions of cognition and motor functioning to everyday task Lead Investigator: Clarissa Giebel Institution : University of East Anglia E-Mail : Clarissa.Giebel@liverpool.ac.uk Proposal ID : 863 Proposal Description: 1) Research has shown strong links between everyday functioning and cognition in neurodegeneration. However, studies to date primarily focus on the contribution of global cognition scores (e.g. MMSE) or very specific cognitive abilities (e.g. executive functioning), while potentially failing to include neuropsychiatric symptoms and motor deficits. The aim of this study is to investigate the specific contributions of such three key areas (cognition, behaviour and motor) to functional disability in different dementias. The expected outcome of this data analysis is to produce a paper for a high-rank international journal in psychiatry and neurology. 2) To explore the contributions of cognition and motor function to everyday functioning in dementias to compare the contributions of cognition and motor function across dementias
